Nail strip tape tutorial

I love doing my nails. It's always a nice feeling when someone asks me, "where did you do your manicure?" and I'm like  "I did it myself!" Yes I admit I live for the oohs and aahs. Lol. Or when I step into a nail parlor just cause I'm having one of those days and I just need someone to scrub my feet and massage my hands and paint my freaking nails! But once they find out I paint my own nails, the atmosphere is anything but relaxing

the conversation goes like this -

Manicurist : "wah! Who paint one? Which shop do one?? tell me leh.. "

Me : "I paint myself "

Manicurist : "You paint one!!? Ey ey sandy* !! Come and see! She paint herself one you know!"

Me : -awkward smile-

Manicurist : ey you want to work here anot?

Me : no la but thanks for the offer

Manicurist : you sure anot? Come la.. How much you want you say?

At this point I just pretend to read something on my phone.

Seriously?!? I just wanted to relax and get my nails done!
I'm not gonna lie that I'm not happy you think I'm that great, please keep the compliments coming, but just stop asking me to work in your shop.

I decided to do nail tutorials since I'm always getting questions about how to do them. Sharing is caring. Why shouldn't other people get oohs and aahs for the diy nails too?!

Gonna start off with a real simple one!
(Sorry for the badly taken photos! Promise they'll be better my next nail tutorial post)
All you need is :

1 nail polish color of your choice (I chose black)

1 nail strip color of your choice (I used Gold)

1 pair of manicure scissors but you can use any regular scissors if you don't have one

Tweezers (optional. I use them to peel off the strips but using your fingers work too!)

Instructions

Step 1 :
Paint your nails and let dry completely. Wet nails are harder to work with cause they leave no room for error and readjusting your strips is almost impossible.

Step 2 :

Place strip anywhere you want on your nail. I wanted to do a different version of the French tip but the possibilities are endless! *nail strip inspiration after this post.

When you're happy with the position, cut the strip to fit your nail.

Step 3 :
Top-coat (if you're a neat nail painter, you're done! But if you're messy like me, go on to step 4)

Step 4 :
Dip Q-tip in nail polish remover and clean off nail polish smudges on your skin.

Ta-dah!! Super classy nails!

If anyone is interested in buying nail strip tape, please leave a message! Also, if there are any type of nail art design you want to learn, leave me a message too!
