I caught Lady Gaga in concert the first night she performed and actually thoroughly enjoyed myself. She's definitely a very talented performer and she deserves mad props for that but I had an issue with the message she was preaching to the audience : I was born this way, and if you don't accept me then fuck you cause I don't give a fuck. That didn't sit too well with me. Truth is, if we begin to tell ourselves the choices we make in our lives are because we were made that way, we're merely making excuses for ourselves to make mistakes we clearly know of and then living in denial, making belief that they're the right thing to do and while I'm not pyschiatrist, I think that's a very dangerous way to live.
We become who we are the moment we have a conscious decision to be that person and not because we were born with a label on our foreheads. Hitler wasn't born with a label "mass-murder/nazi", no, he was born just like you and I, but chose to go down a very twisted path. That's the difference between every one of us humans, isn't it? The thing that distinguishes one person from another is simply the choices we make in our lives. We are who we are because we chose it, not because we were made that way. To say that you were born this way seems to me like a weak excuse, trying to pass off as a reason, for your choice in life.
Is that really the message we want sent out to the world - that it's ok to make mistakes with reckless abandon and then blame it on God for creating us this way? Bullshit.
But all in all, I must say it was one of the most interesting concerts I've seen and I had a whole lot of fun. Despite her weird beliefs, Gaga is definitely a great performer and entertainer.
On to the photos.
She said, "I am not an alien, I am not human, I am not female neither am I male... blablabla.. I am.. you"
I didn't understand that at all. Maybe it was deep beyond my comprehension, although I highly doubt it, but apparently her fans understood cause they burst out in hysterical screams after she said it. I think they're mad.
I really liked this origami dress! It's so cute!
Booty shake!
Someone threw a doll on stage and she made it sing and dance to her songs. I actually thought it was really cute.
"Why break up with ex boyfriends when you can make them into furniture?"
"JUMP!"
